Team 1: Chemical Engineering (GC)
Team Leader: Pr. BENHAMZA Mohamed El Hocine
The research objectives of the GC team are to design, conduct and optimize new industrial processes. The team's work focuses on the study of transfer phenomena, energy, effluent treatment and chemical engineering in general. This research is approached with both experimental and numerical approaches (modelling, simulation and optimization).

Research areas
The team's main areas of research are:
- Electrochemical treatment of urban wastewater
- Preparation and characterization of nano-chitosan
- Study of the stability and destabilization of oil-in-water type emulsions applied in paint
- Study of the rheology of complex fluids
- Study of heat flows by boiling
- New formulations for paint, resin and additives based on biodegradable surfactants
- Flow modelling and network design
- Nanofluid modeling, effects and increases of heat transfer using nanofluids.
